RF Electronic technology and radio frequency: Out Door Unit

PDH Radio Unit, working in the 7, 8, 15, 23 GHz band.
The unit, remotely powered, includes:

  • The cable interface towards its control unit (IDU);
  • The modulation/demodulation hardware;
  • The baseband sections, OL, IF and RF for the Tx and Rx signals.

Transmission capacity between 2 Mbit/s and 34 Mbit/s, with baseband according to PDH 2x2 Mbit/s and16x2 Mbit/s formats.
The integrated microcontroller performs the following tasks:

  • set of Tx and Rx frequency, Tx Power and squelch according to IDU commands;
  • measurement of Rx signal strength, and localc temperature;
  • compensation of analog parameters in function of:
    • Temperature;
    • Bitrate;
    • Tx power;
    • IF, Tx and Rx Frequency.
  • Alarm monitoring.

The unit supports the firmware upgrade in runtime.

RF Electronic technology and radio frequency: X Band UP/DOWN Converter

These are two units to Up/Down convert frequency in the radar band for airborne applications.

The Downconverter receives RF input signal (between 8.9 and 10 GHz) and converts it to IF through a two-stage process.

The Upconverter unit performs the opposite operation, receives the input IF signal (between 26 and 30 MHz) and rises it to the X-band RF by 2 stages of conversion.

Both units include a controller with firmware specialized to the management of automatic compensation and to the measurement of signal levels.

Radio unit purposely developed for the replacement of the CPE modem used for transmitting television signals according to the standards for cable television. It finds application where you want to build a distribution network for TV channels with the characteristics of the ′cable′ without the infrastructure of underground coaxial cables.

The unit includes the interface to the decoder and integrates all the control functions of the TX and Rx radio sections in the band of 28 GHz.

The Unit supervision is obtained through the integrated microcontroller that provides a LAN interface. The microcontroller supports SNMP, Telnet and TFTP.
In addition the unit can be redunded enabling the automatic active/standby exchange.

Monitoring Systems: Railway Tunnel Security Monitoring System (SPVI)

The system, built in compliance with Italian Railway regulations, integrates and manages, through a specific GIS-based graphical interface, both the SOS telephone service and the Audio Advice of Emergency arranged along one or more tunnels.

In short, the system consists of:

  • A fully redundant fiber-optic network;
  • A distributed DBMS provided by a cluster of servers;
  • A Call Manager in redundant configuration;
  • Several Workstation multiscreen;
  • SOS cabinet for emergency call with VoIP phones, audio advice amplifiers, alarm collection and carry out of PLC remote commands.

Monitoring Systems: Railway Selective Telephony System (STSI)

The system, built in compliance with Italian railway regulations, is a specialized telephone system designed to support voice communications between railway operators involved in the management of a defined line.

In summary, the system interfaces:

  • Along Track Telephones in waterproof case;
  • Rail station platform Telephones in waterproof case;
  • Office Telephones;
  • Telephone Consoles for railway operating manager;
  • GSM-R interconnections;
  • POTS interconnections;;
  • Old specific telephone line integration (STS75, AS12, BC, BL …);
  • Third parts STSI integration, STI and VoIP.

Monitoring Systems: Road & Tunnel Lighting System (Tulipans)

Management System for roads and/or gallery lighting installations, based on LED lamps, equipped with wireless control devices. Specifically designed to:

  • Ensure visibility in all lighting conditions, limiting light dispersion and optimizing the operating and maintenance costs;
  • Ensure safety of vehicular traffic;
  • Confer a greater sense of "physical and psychological security" to people.

Technical features:

  • Web-based interface, with dynamic multilevel maps;

Smart Devices: Road Monitoring Unit

Remotable unit for highway applications with functions of:

  • Collection of traffic data from radar sensors or induction loops;
  • Management of up to 4 videocameras with MPEG-4 compression;
  • Integrated LAN switch;
  • Integrated IP Router;
  • Up to 3 WiFi 802.11b/g interfaces supporting Ad-Hoc, Managed and AccessPoint mode;
  • VoIP phone interface;
  • Management of Variable Message Signes, traffic lights and various actuators.

The unit has a CPU Pentium grade with Linux Embedded and can be powered by solar panels.

Smart Devices: GSM/GPRS PCI board for PABX

This is a PCI board adopted in a telephone switching system making use of VoIP technology to allows direct connection of the PABX to the GSM/GPRS network.

The board integrates:

  • 4 modules GSM Siemens MC55;
  • 2 CPU Texas Instruments MSP430.

Power Line Modem (G3)

G3-PLC (Power Line Communication Third Generation) is the name of the protocol sponsored by the G3-PLC Alliance organization to support and promote the Smart Grid philosofy.
It makes use of electrical wiring to simultaneously carry both data, and Alternating Current (AC) for electric power transmission or electric power distribution.
With the ability to cross transformers, infrastructure costs are reduced and with its support of IPv6, G3-PLC will support powerline communications into the future.

Our product characteristics:

  • G3 PLC Power Line modem ASIC for industrial markets, fully implemented in FPGA ((LX240T Xilinx Virtex6) to reduce the design time and costs;
  • full duplex transmission, narrowband OFDM;
  • MAC Procol Engine and PHY layer (Analog Front End) integrated:
  • Application Layer on CPU STM32;
  • Supported modulations: ROBO, DBPSK e DQPSK;
  • forward error correction (FEC) supported;
  • Monitoring and debug functionality integrated.

Automotive Radar Front-End

This is the FPGA version of an anti-collision radar in the 77GHz band, then realized in ASIC, for the automotive market.
The component has the following characteristics:

  • Powerful processing units, completely implemented in hardware;
  • All the main functions are synchronized in hardware and controlled by only one Control register to maximize its usability;
  • Supports up to 50 scan/s
  • Automatic selection between triangular or saw-tooth;
  • Excellent granularity in terms of velocity and position change;
  • RF interface in master/slave mode and flexible in terms of chirps number and size.
